A Commitment to Puerto Rico's Nonprofit Sector
San Juan, PR, December 16, 2024
This past Giving Tuesday, we had the privilege of participating in a meaningful event organized by Direct Relief, underscoring our bank's commitment to community support and economic development in Puerto Rico.
Our CEO, Carlos García, took the stage alongside Manuel Cidre, the Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce, to discuss a topic close to our hearts—the vital role of the nonprofit sector in Puerto Rico's economy. The discussion thoroughly examined the challenges and opportunities that nonprofit organizations face and highlighted their crucial contributions to the island's overall economic development.
In addition to the insightful discussion, our Business team had the opportunity to engage with various nonprofit organizations. These interactions allowed us to gain invaluable perspectives on the remarkable impact that Direct Relief has made on the island since 2017. It's inspiring to see firsthand how these organizations work tirelessly to address pressing needs in the community and provide support to those most affected.
Our participation in events like Giving Tuesday reaffirms our dedication to supporting our communities. We believe that by collaborating with nonprofit organizations, we can foster positive change.
